MEMO

IN'EI footwear of Rolling Dub Trio is inspired from “In praise of shadows” (original Japanese title is In’ei Raisan), essay by Junichiro Tanizaki (1886-1965) written in 1933, that discusses traditional Japanese aesthetics in comparisons of light with darkness and of Western and Asian cultures. This is a line of shoes that expresses the beauty that resides in deep black with a minimalist design that eliminates all unnecessary elements and highlights functionality. This loafer is made of Munson last which we modified to make this loafer, exclusively. The shoe features a simple design that pursues Japanese aesthetic values. It is in ROLLING DUB TRIO style, with outstanding comfort and walking ability. The leather is made from Dutch calfskin (equivalent to kip in Japan) and finished in Japan using the box calf method. It has an absorbing, transparent black color and a fine texture.
